“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light”… 1 Peter2:9
Let His light so shine that all may see His good work in thee! Yes, we are to be set apart from the world’s ways. Others should know “something” is different about us. We are NOT to stand out to get attention… we are not to stand out for others to look at us, But, that we stand out as a “peculiar people” becuase we live for our Holy God and His Son Jesus. It is His Spirit within us that others can sense… our words, our actions and modesty are illuminated.
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Romans 12:1
But know that the LORD has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The LORD will hear when I call to Him… LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased. I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:3-8
